Arrichiello '07 named to NE-10 All-Conference Team

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Senior utility player hitter Anthony Arrichiello (Yonkers, N.Y.), senior right fielder Kyle McNiff (Medford, Mass.), sophomore shortstop Chris Amate (Hanover, Mass.) and freshman pitcher/infielder Cam MacDonald (Weymouth, Mass.) have been named to the 2011 Northeast-10 all-Conference team, it was announced following a vote of the NE-10 head coaches.

Amate. Arrichiello and McNiff were third-team all-conference selections, while MacDonald was named to the all-rookie team. They are AIC's first all-conference since Jeff Rustico earned third-team honors in 2006.

Amate started in each of his 36 games played in his second season as a Yellow Jacket, batting .311 (42-135) with 10 doubles, one triple, a team-leading five homeruns, 19 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He also swiped a team-leading 17 bases in 22 attempts.

Arrichiello, who was the team's primary catcher with appearances at first base and as the designated hitter, batted .270 (41-152) and started in all but one of AIC's 42 games this season, recording 10 doubles, one triple, 20 runs scored and a team-best 28 RBIs. He posted a .981 fielding percentage while at catcher and first base after being charged with just five errors in 265 total chances.

MacDonald started in 35 of his 37 games played in his first collegiate season, batting .270 (33-122) with four doubles, one triple, 20 runs scored, 11 RBIs and five stolen bases. He also posted a 2-2 record with a 4.00 ERA in his six appearances on the mound, which included five starts.

McNiff started in all but one of his 37 games played this season, batting a team-best .333 (40-120) with 10 doubles, two triples, one homerun, 22 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He had just one error in 88 total chances in the outfield for a .989 fielding percentage.

AIC posted an overall record of 17-25 in 2011, marking the program's highest win total since winning 18 games in 2002, including an 11-15 mark in conference play.
